Make Your Own Ephemerides

Ephemeriser

Notice: The ephemeriser has been temporarily disabled due to hosting limitations. There simply isn't enough processing power to go around on this server. If you would like a custom ephemeris, please feel free to contact me and ask for one.

What It Is

The Ephemeriser is an all-purpose ephemeris generator (samples to the left). Most ephemerides value space more than information, so they give each date a single line. Most ephemerides don't want to give a full page to each date. The Ephemeriser gives two pages to each date and you will see why. It takes the dates and times you provide and from them creates an ephemeris that is both scientific and astrological. Information is provided about current positions (geocentric and solar-barycentric), geocentric aspects (the apparent angles between things), regressed positions for sky-fixed astrology, phases, lunar mansions, and various other little things. I thought to include heliocentric positions, but you can expect heliocentric positions to be within a quarter of a degree of the barycentric positions. The Sun is rarely farther than two solar diametres from its barycentre.

You can use this to make a pdf out of any series of dates; birthdays, earthquakes, anniversaries, et cetera. It can be used to make any ephemeris up to 200 days. It would produce more if not for server limitations. To process 200 days will take some time (many minutes), so get some coffee. It will require you to click to download after it's done.

How to Use It

Above you see the date/time collector for the Ephemeriser. This program collects all the information necessary in order to formulate a custom ephemeris. If only the start date is provided, then it will assume that you only want to add that one day. If both start and end dates are provided, it will assume that you want to include every day in between. The Ephemeriser will start at the time specified on the start date and then increment in 24 hour periods until the same time on the end date. If the start time is omitted, then it will assume noon. If only the minutes are omitted, it will assume 00. If a start date is provided and an end day and month, but no year, it will assume the end year to be the start year. If the end day is specified, but not the ending month and year, then it will assume the same month and year as the starting date. If the ending date is earlier than the starting date, it will automatically flip them.

The Clear button clears the form on the right. The reset function (at top) clears the whole list to the left. To remove items from the list, click the minus circle next to the individual entry. The program will accept no more than 200 days for a single ephemeris. The link provided at the bottom left (above) will assume that you are done adding dates and activate the Ephemeriser. Due to the fact that we are on shared hosting, cpu throttling is imposed on resource heavy programs (like the kind that produce ephemerides), so the program isn't stable when run for long periods. I can run the same program locally (not on the server) to produce much longer ephemerides. If you want a full ephemeris for a particular year that isn't provided here, then click here to go to the Contact page and then you can request the ephemeris.
