The purpose of this analyser is to provide a means to calculate many Hermetic Lots or Arabic Parts (hereafter called lots) simultaneously. This provides both a plethora of information about specific charts and many avenues of research through known values. Research almost always begins with the acquisition of a heaping pile of information. This lot calculator will provide the mathematical results (in zodiacal longitude) of 90 lots per table. It includes all lots that are calculated in the form: Lot = Ascendant + Planet - Planet.
Lots, by definition, are an optional addition to a natal chart, based on values from a planetary chart. This can be proven from analysis of the formula structure. The day formula for the Lot of Fortune is Ascendant + Moon - Sun. To translate the math, this formula reads, "the position of the Moon on the Sun's chart, added to the natal ascendant." It could also be read as, "the distance to the Moon from the Sun, added to the ascendant." This definition holds true for all lots which have the same type of formula, as mentioned above. At the top, right corner of the output, there is a colour-coded formula of the type just mentioned. It specifies the zodiacal longitude of the ascendant and gives value to each row/column. The blue labels (down the left side) indicate which planet is being used as an anchor point to measure the other. The planet measured from the anchor point is labelled in green (across the top). The result for the day formula for the Lot of Fortune (Ascendant + Moon - Sun) is located in the Moon's column (green) and the Sun's row (blue). All 90 values can be read in this way to yield the zodiacal positions of all lots that can take this exact form. It is up to the reader to know how to apply this information.
